American Online Racing races using Nascar Replay Analyzer to compile race results.
Provided there were no server interruptions, the results that are compiled by this program are official.
*The Game Launcher
American Online Racing has developed propietary software to connect racers to the race servers.
The Game Launcher ensures that the players Mods, Tracks and Carfiles are up to date and that all drivers compete with equal settings.
*AutoAdmin
American Online Racing has developed propietary software to control the individual races.
The basic functions of AutoAdmin are explained below:
- Lucky Dogs - Determines who the Lucky Dog is at the time of the yellow, instructs the Lucky Dog when to go around and clears their flag at then next restart.
- Wave Arounds - Instructs any Wave Around car when to go and clears their flag at the next restart.
- Closes the pits 2 laps prior to the end of each stage. Applies Black Flag to any driver who pitted while pits were closed.
*Admins
There will always be an Admin in attendance at the race.
They are the judge, jury and executioner for the event.
DO NOT question their authority. What they say goes.
If you feel you have been wrongfully accused or penalized, DO NOT try and correct the problem during the event.
You have the right to file a protest with one of the site administrators after the event. See PROTESTS below.
*Chatting
Text
Only race related chatting while under green. Autochat messages related to racing intentions only.
TeamSpeak
Teamspeak is a tool that allows more in-depth information to be relayed during the race. It is not intended to be a channel for discussing the world’s problems.
Please be considerate of other drivers and keep TS chat to a minimum and focused to the race in progress. Set up whisper keys for private chats.
Flaming
This is not "Race related" communications. Please save it for after the race and in the TS "Boxing Ring/Flaming Room".
*Black Flags
DO NOT under any circumstance notify the Admin that your black flag should be cleared. It is the drivers’ responsibility to follow the rules of the game.
Any driver that fails to follow this rule will be disqualified from the event.
*Lucky Dog
Described
A free pass will be given to the first eligible car a lap or more down when the yellow flag comes out.
The recipient will be determined by AutoAdmin at the time the caution is displayed.
To be eligible for the lucky dog, the car must not have been the cause of the incident that brought out the yellow.
If the first car a lap down is ineligible, no Lucky Dog will be awarded.
Clearing
The lucky dog will pass the field as soon as they receive the message from AutoAdmin.
They are to SAFELY pass the field and catch up to the end of the field then enter the pits the second time by.
Once the green flag has been displayed, AutoAdmin will clear the black flag.
NOTE: Please give AutoAdmin a chance to issue the command to clear the flag.
If the flag has not been cleared after one lap, notify the Admin.
If the flag has still not been cleared after the second lap, pit and follow the spotters instructions on clearing the flag.
Notify the Admin of this and amends will be made during the next caution period.
Exceptions
On road courses typically all cars pit the first time by.
This makes it difficult for the Lucky Dog recipient to pit, pass the pace car and make it back to the tail end of the field before green flag drops.
So, on road courses, AutoAdmin will instruct the Lucky Dog to go around as soon as the leader takes the yellow.
They must enter the pits the first time they are able to. They do not have to have the car serviced.
They must wait for all cars to exit the pit before leaving so as to be at the tail end of the field when the green flag drops.
*Wave Arounds
Described
Coming soon...
*Server Restarts
Server restarts are frowned upon and will be avoided whenever possible.
However, AOR understands that this is an online racing game and therefore sometimes situations occur.
Therefore, ONE(1) and only one race restart will available at each event.
Once that restart has been done, there will be no further restarts regardless of what happens.
Valid Reasons
Severe server warp occurs during the first 10 laps of the event. Admins discretion. (Admin announces server restart)
The server will not be restarted between sessions.
Once the Practice session has completed, DO NOT go on to the track to qualify.
The Qualifying session will be reset at the conclusion of the Driver Meeting.
Any driver going out on the track before the conclusion of the Drivers Meeting will be given a 1 lap penalty at the start of the race.
*Protests
Notify
Log all protests by using the Comments and Protests link found in the Race Detail module.
When
All protests must be received within 48 hours of the event.
Include all the information needed to plead your case.
A fair decision can only be made if all of the facts are available.
Include a clip of the replay from the race if possible. DO NOT include the whole replay. Only send enough of the replay to make your case.
If you need help on cutting out a portion of the replay, contact your league admin.
Result
The outcome and final decision of the protest will be returned within 72 hours.
*Yellows
There is no racing back to the yellow flag.
When the yellow flag comes out, use your F2 key to determine what position you are in.
Hold that position until all drivers have crossed the start/finish line and taken the yellow.
Do your absolute best not to jam on the brakes when the yellow flag comes out unless you are attempting to avoid the accident.
Maintain a safe speed that keeps you in the position you were in at the time the yellow flag was displayed.
See PROTESTS above.
